Sales of previously owned homes in metro Denver dropped in November, while sales prices rose, compared to the same month a year ago.
Resales of both single-family houses and condominiums decreased 7 percent to 4,225 through Nov. 22, from 4,545 in November 2004, according to independent broker Gary Bauer.
Bauer tracks housing performance using data from real estate information provider Metrolist Inc. of Greenwood Village.
The average home price rose to $281,716 this month from $265,795 a year earlier.
Condos' average price rose nearly $5,000 to $187,194 from $182,445. But single-family home prices jumped to $309,030 from $289,934 in November '04.
So far this year, resales are down 1.4 percent, to 48,919 compared to 49,596 for the same 11 months last year.
Year-to-date average sales price for 2005 is $307,450, compared to $289,891 for the same period of 2004.
